Canopy and Northwind are the two accounts to work this week. Both have a live trigger that maps directly to what you sell, and the window is open now.
Show buyers you understand what they’re dealing with, why it matters to the business, and why your team is uniquely positioned to help.

Hey Mia, congrats on the APAC expansion! We help companies like Canopy navigate data residency requirements as they go international. Would love to chat about how we could help. Open to a quick call this week?
Hey Mia, saw you’re expanding into Singapore and Tokyo. We went through Canopy’s docs and data flows and mapped them against APPI and PDPA. You’re in good shape for Singapore with minor changes, but Japan has three gaps that will likely block enterprise deals around cross-border transfers and data retention.
Attached the full breakdown with specific fixes. Hope it’s useful as you’re ramping up over there.
Hey Priya, saw Canopy is moving into Japan and Singapore. Quick observation: Singapore’s PDPA you’re probably mostly fine on, but Japan’s APPI has a cross-border transfer clause that’s quietly killed deals for two companies we’ve worked with. It surfaces late, usually in security review, after the commercial side is done.
Not urgent, just wanted it on your radar before the first enterprise conversation.
Hey Rajan, looked at your API docs out of curiosity. Single US region for processing right now, which is probably fine until the first Japanese enterprise deal asks about data residency. The teams I’ve seen handle this well scope the region-specific routing change before the deal is on the table, not after — three week project pre-deal, three month fire drill mid-deal.
Hey Sarah — with Japan GA on the board’s Q3 timeline, wanted to flag something from the compliance work we’ve been doing with your team. The engineering lift is scoped at roughly three weeks pre-deal; companies that wait usually budget three times that mid-negotiation when APPI questions surface in procurement. Happy to share what we’re seeing on deal timing if useful.
Create useful assets for cold outreach, meeting follow-up, and deal progression.
Each one built around what a specific buyer is trying to solve and valuable enough to be useful without the sales pitch.

Canopy APAC Compliance: Three Gaps Before Your First Japan Deal
Updated 2h ago · 2 pages
01The three gaps: cross-border transfer, retention, consent
02APPI vs PDPA — where you’re fine, where you’re not
03Precedent: Datadog 2019, Snowflake 2021
04Suggested remediation order + sample DPA language
“APPI Article 24 quietly blocks enterprise deals in security review. We’ve watched it happen twice — here’s how to address it before procurement opens the file.”
01 · Cross-border transfer. Canopy’s default US routing triggers APPI transfer restrictions before legal review even starts. Japan enterprise buyers expect data residency clarity in week one.
02 · Retention windows. Seven-year audit trails are standard in Japan security questionnaires; your 18-month policy is flagged on every RFP we’ve reviewed in this segment.
03 · Consent capture. PDPA opt-in language won’t pass APPI scrutiny — we mapped the three clauses procurement will ask about first.
04 · APPI vs PDPA. Singapore approvals don’t transfer to Japan. Section 02 maps where your current stack passes PDPA but fails APPI Article 24 during enterprise security review.
05 · Precedent. Datadog delayed Japan GA eight months on transfer controls; Snowflake cleared review in three by routing fixes alone. Both playbooks are summarized in section 03.
Remediation order. Fix transfer routing first (2–3 eng weeks), then retention policy, then consent copy. Sample DPA language for section 04 is included at the end of this report.

Primary need
Close the APPI gap before it surfaces in enterprise security review.
PUBLICNo APPI or PDPA language anywhere. The gap is externally visible; she may not know.
GAPAPPI Article 24 killed two enterprise deals mid-cycle. Always surfaces after commercial terms are set.

Most account research is a snapshot. Useful for a moment, stale by next week. We've been watching every company in your ICP for years, so your team always has a real-time view of what they need to know.
Most tools surface the same enrichment to every team. We curate millions of data points through the lens of your product, your buyer, and your industry, so what you see is built specifically for you.
You shouldn't have to assemble the answer from a hundred data sources. We hand your team a POV that runs from first touch to closed won: what's happening at the company, the problem worth solving, and how exactly you can help.
